The phrase harkens back to the glory days of travel, before the internet made it easy for anyone to book a trip themselves directly with a vendor. It was a time when your agent would see to it that every detail of your trip was well-planned, correctly booked, and suited specifically to you and your travel companions. For a while, it looked like Travel Agents might go the way of the dodo bird. But still, they persisted, lasting through economic downturns, airline crises, and even the more-accessible-than-ever Internet.

So why do so many travelers turn to an agent even today? Consider these reasons:

This is where Outlander Travel can help. We can guide you through all the options you find and even suggest some you may have missed. Then we can talk you through those options in regard to your personal needs and wishes to help decide where you will get the most value for your hard-earned vacation dollars. Best of all, we are up to speed on current specials, sales, and promotions from many major suppliers and even more minor ones. You would be surprised how much a travel agent can save you both in time and in money.

    Your trip could have several moving parts: air travel, land travel, hotels, tour guides, rental cars... it's a lot to keep up with. Outlander Travel will package your trip for you, and then serve as a one-stop shop for answering your questions, concerns, or even helping to make changes and tweaks to your itinerary. And we can communicate with you by whichever means you prefer: telephone, chat, emails, and even face-to-face visits for the local folks. We want your vacation to be as fantastic as you do, and we will work hard to ensure that it is. And remember, there is usually no cost to you to use a travel agent. We try to work solely off of commission from the vendors. There are a few exceptions to this based on the sort of trip we are arranging for you. You can find these exceptions on our Fee Schedule.

Elizabeth Caran

Elizabeth knows how important travel is for your family and for your own personal growth. She caught the travel bug at a very early age when her parents took her to Walt Disney World® Resort for the first time at age five. From there, her family vacations have spanned a good part of the world, including destinations in the US, Canada, the Bahamas and Caribbean, Europe, and the Pacific Islands. Most recently, her adventures took her to Hong Kong and mainland China. Her focus is on family travel and she has been to four of the world’s five Disney Parks® areas with more than twenty visits to the Walt Disney World® Resort in Florida over the last twenty years. She has sailed on numerous cruise lines including Disney Cruise Line®, Royal Caribbean, Princess, Norwegian and Carnival. Her passion for travel is apparent in the detailed attention she puts into putting your vacations together.

Along with her wealth of personal travel experience, Elizabeth has twenty years experience in management and holds a BA in Secondary English Education as well as a Masters of Library and Information Science degree. Elizabeth is a graduate of the College of Disney Knowledge and has attained a special knowledge of Disney Destinations. She is currently working toward her ACC (Accredited Cruise Counselor) accreditation from CLIA (Cruise Lines International Association, Inc.). and attends regular workshops with travel companies and professional organizations.

Sandy Ezzell

Sandy is excited to turn a love for travel and attention to detail into an exciting career. It started when she was young and her father worked out of town, so summers were spent where he worked in Niagara Falls and throughout Canada, as well as family vacations to places like Acadia National Park in Maine and Manitoba, Canada. After that the family moved to Myrtle Beach, SC, where she grew up in a resort town and planned vacations to bigger cities. She has relished planning trips for friends and family for over 20 years. Even when she was not going on these trips, the plans were tucked away for future weekend getaways, international honeymoons, and family reunions. Sandy is also an avid runner and enjoys destination races out of town with her running buddies. She recently completed her first marathon at Walt Disney World.

Sandy has a Bachelor of Science in Business Management, and has served as treasurer of her kids’ PTA as well as leader of their scout troops. She loves to plan and is excited to research even more fantastic vacation ideas. Whether it’s a camping trip to a National Park, a group going to Walt Disney World, a relaxing beach trip or a Destination Marathon, Sandy will plan your trip as if it’s her own and make sure you have the vacation of your dreams.

Schedule of Fees

For the most part, agents are able to work for commission only. However, due to standards in the travel industry and fees associated with airlines, as well as the work involved with putting together a large trip, we do sometimes charge fees. This fee schedule is a guide for what you may be asked to pay.
  • Service Fee for booking an air-only itinerary $20 per “trip”
    (Four round trip tickets purchased together count as one “trip”)
  • Service Fee for booking an air/hotel itinerary $10 per booking
    (Number of nights does not matter, as long as it is the same hotel stay)

    There is no fee for booking airfare when booked with a large package such as a cruise, theme park vacation, or resort stay that comes to $1000 or more before air.

  • Service fee for research $50 to be applied toward deposit
    (The agent will notify you at the time of the initial consultation if the service fee will be required to complete the work. The fee is then applied to your vacation deposit when booked, but is non-refundable if you cancel your vacation. This is normally charged for individualized tours that require searching multiple vendors to create a custom vacation package.)

When you book a Walt Disney Vacation with us, we like to add a little extra magic.
  • For all bookings at a WDW (Walt Disney World) Resort that cost more than $500, you will be given a choice of a free one-year subscription to TouringPlans.com or a free copy of the DisneyFoodBlog Guide to WDW Dining.
  • WDW Vacation Packages costing between $2000 and $3500 earn a $20 gift card plus the subscription to Touring Plans and the DFB Guide.
  • WDW Vacation Packages costing between $3500 and $5000 earn a $35 gift card plus the subscription to Touring Plans and the DFB Guide.
  • WDW Vacation Packages costing between $5000 and $7500 earn a $50 gift card plus the subscription to Touring Plans and the DFB Guide.
  • WDW Vacation Packages costing between $7500 and $10,000 earn a $75 gift card plus the subscription to Touring Plans and the DFB Guide.
  • WDW Vacation Packages costing more than $10,000 earn a $100 gift card, plus the subscription to Touring Plans and the DFB Guide.
